NON-SURGICAL BLEMISH REMOVAL

Non-Surgical Blemish Removal is a very safe, effective, and quick procedure using an electrical current for the removal of:

Telangiectasia (small red facial veins), Spider Naevi, Skin Tags, Blood Spots, Seborrheic Keratosis, Actinic Keratosis. Sebaceous Hyperplasia and Milia.

How it works:

The treatment uses a Short-Wave Diathermy electrical current which passes heat into the skin. This cauterises the tissue to seal surface blood vessels or to lift away epidermal lesions.

Blemishes can be quickly and successfully treated with immediate and effective results. Permanent removal of these lesions can be achieved in one or two treatments depending on their type, size and the number within the treatment area, this will be discussed and advised upon during your consultation.

DOES IT HURT?

What does the treatment involve?

A very fine probe (thinner than an eyelash) is used to pass the heat of the electrical current into the skin tissue. This is so fine and localised to a specific area that only the smallest amount of discomfort is experienced. Clients describe it feeling like a short-lived hot scratch or fleeting pinch or pricking of the skin.

Our professionals are here to ensure you make the right decision for you; we will only go ahead with a treatment if we believe it is in your best interests.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING MY APPOINTMENT?

We will carry out a full consultation and take your medical history. This is our opportunity to make sure that the treatments we recommend are suitable, and your opportunity to tell us about what your skin goals are. We will talk to you about all options, and make sure you are completely comfortable before going ahead.
We will explain how the different treatments work, how they feel on your skin, how your skin may look immediately after treatment and the days following along with the all important aftercare and post-treatment advice, which includes your at home skin regime.
We have a duty of care to ensure you are fully informed before undergoing any treatment. Once you’re happy (and we’re happy) we will make you comfortable and commence your treatment, talking you through it step-by-step. Need some more time to think? No problem at all, take your time. We’ll send you all the relevant information so that you can come back to us when you’re ready.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER MY TREATMENT?

Although our aim is healthy, happy skin, some of our treatments carry minimal downtime, so you can expect to be slightly red and blotchy immediately afterwards. For a few days the area treated will be sensitive, show redness and a little swelling and for the deeper lesions there may be scabbing. It is important to fully understand that advanced skin treatments are often stimulating so some mild, temporary reactions are occasionally expected and will be discussed during your consultation.

There are very few, minimal after effects and many of our clients are able to return to their normal activities following their treatment.

You ‘may’ experience:

Skin redness and flushing.
Tightness, sensitivity and tenderness.
Erythema (heat in the skin).
Effects will usually typically resolve within hours and many people are able to return to their normal activities whilst adhering to the recommended aftercare.

Avoid the following for the first 48 hours:

Strenuous exercise & activities that may cause excessive perspiration.
Extreme temperatures such as intense sunlight, hot baths or showers.
Using a sunbed, spa, sauna or swimming pool.
Drinking alcohol.
Use of Retinol (Topical Vitamin A), Exfoliating scrubs or acids like Glycolic Acid
Facial hair removal within the treated area; electrolysis, waxing, bleaching, depilatory creams and laser until the skin has fully healed.

We also recommend:

Follow the aftercare advice provided by your practitioner.
Keeping the treated area clean and dry.
Cleanse using a mild cleanser.
No picking, scratching, touching the treated area.
If required, protect the area with a sterile dressing for the next few days until the area has formed a scab.
Not having this treatment within two weeks of a special event, so that any potential flaking/scabbing/redness can subside.
