Our chemical peel procedures are designed to cause accelerated, controlled skin regeneration and because your skin is unique, we treat it that way! Each unique peel formula allows the chemical exfoliants to act at various depths which gives us the flexibility to design bespoke treatments tailored to the needs of your skin. We perform a variety of different chemical peels; from gentle peels for younger skin and for those clients who don’t want visible flaking to stronger peels for more mature skin, which involve shedding and a bit more downtime.

Peels are effective in improving skin quality, elasticity and texture as well as reducing pore size, sun damage and pigmentation. They are also great for addressing breakouts and acne.

Who can have a chemical peel?

Everybody! Using our thorough consultation procedure, we can work together to find the peel best suited to you and your skin concerns. We can work on different depths of skin tissue depending on the peel selected and every peel is progressive and always supported by at home skin-prep before each treatment. This not only prepares your skin but enhances the results of treatment as well as minimising any adverse side effects.

Prevention and maintenance

Performing a peel several times a year helps maintain a healthy appearance and improve skin texture as a preventative action against aging. However, the frequency will always depend on the type of peel applied and the skin indication being treated. The treatments are progressive, where the full benefits are seen after several weeks, so a course of treatment is required.

Pre and post-peel care

To obtain the best results adequate skin preparation and a full post-treatment follow-up are essential. We offer a wide range of products for home use designed to prepare, improve and extend the results obtained in clinic.

Optimisation and maintenance of other procedures

At the same time as being an effective treatment for skin rejuvenation, acne and hyperpigmentation, chemical peels can be used to optimise other aesthetic procedures including; microneedling, mesotherapy, electroporation, radiofrequency & LED phototherapy.

You will have a thorough consultation with your practitioner before undergoing any treatment. This allows you to decide whether the treatment is right for you with the advice of a skincare professional. Our professionals are here to ensure you make the right decision for you; we will only go ahead with a treatment if we believe it is in your best interests.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING MY APPOINTMENT?

We will carry out a full consultation and take your medical history. This is our opportunity to make sure that the treatments we recommend are suitable, and your opportunity to tell us about what your skin goals are. We will talk to you about all options, and make sure you are completely comfortable before going ahead.
We will explain how the different treatments work, how they feel on your skin, how your skin may look immediately after treatment and the days following along with the all important aftercare and post-treatment advice, which includes your at home skin regime.
We have a duty of care to ensure you are fully informed before undergoing any treatment. Once you’re happy (and we’re happy) we will make you comfortable and commence your treatment, talking you through it step-by-step. Need some more time to think? No problem at all, take your time. We’ll send you all the relevant information so that you can come back to us when you’re ready.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER MY TREATMENT?

Although our aim is healthy, hydrated and glowy skin, some of our chemical peels carry some downtime, so you can expect to be slightly red immediately afterwards, they may also leave the skin pink with a mild sunburnt like appearance. Then there is the actual peeling…sometimes a mild flaking and sometimes more of a heavy shedding depending on the peel used. It is important to fully understand that advanced skin treatments are often stimulating so some mild, temporary reactions are occasionally expected and will be discussed during your consultation.

There are few, minimal after effects and many of our clients are able to return to their normal activities following their treatment.

You ‘may’ experience:

Skin redness and flushing.
Tightness, itching and tenderness which may last for several days.
Light flaking may within begin 1-3 days and will usually subsided in 5-10 days.
It’s impossible to predict the shedding process, it’s unique to the individual.

Avoid the following for the first 72 hours:

Strenuous exercise & activities that could lead to increased blood circulation to the face and may cause excessive perspiration.
Excessive heat sources such as intense sunlight, hot baths or showers.
Using a sunbed, spa, sauna or swimming pool.
Avoid direct sun for 2-3 weeks.
Drinking alcohol.
Use of Retinol (Topical Vitamin A), Exfoliating scrubs or acids like Glycolic Acid.
Facial hair removal; electrolysis, waxing, bleaching, depilatory creams and laser for at least 72 hours.

We also recommend:

Follow the aftercare advice provided by your practitioner.
Only using the aftercare products recommended by your practitioner.
Not picking or peeling at the loose skin as scarring may occur.
Gently washing the treated area, but do not rub or massage the face for 24 hours.
Apply a sunscreen daily minimum SPF30+.
Not having this treatment within two weeks of a special event, so that any potential flaking/peeling/redness can subside.
