HOW DOES IT WORK?

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING MY APPOINTMENT?

  • We will carry out a full consultation and take your medical history. This is our opportunity to make sure that the treatments we recommend are suitable, and your opportunity to tell us about what your skin goals are. We will talk to you about all options, and make sure you are completely comfortable before going ahead.
  • We will explain how the different treatments work, how they feel on your skin, how your skin may look immediately after treatment and the days following along with the all important aftercare and post-treatment advice, which includes your at home skin regime.
  • We have a duty of care to ensure you are fully informed before undergoing any treatment. Once you’re happy (and we’re happy) we will make you comfortable and commence your treatment, talking you through it step-by-step. Need some more time to think? No problem at all, take your time. We’ll send you all the relevant information so that you can come back to us when you’re ready.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING & AFTER MY TREATMENT?

Dermalux is a very relaxing, pain free experience with proven mood enhancing effects. After your skin is cleansed and prepped you can enjoy some luxury me-time as your skin absorbs the energising light to kick start skin cell regeneration, calm irritation and restore radiance. Each treatment lasts up to 30 minutes and with no downtime, you can simply get up and glow!

You ‘may’ experience:

  • Mild skin redness or flushing.
  • Effects will usually typically resolve within hours and many people are able to return to their normal activities.

Avoid the following for the first 24 hours:

  • Strenuous exercise & activities that may cause excessive perspiration.
  • Extreme temperatures such as intense sunlight, hot baths or showers.
  • Using a sunbed, spa, sauna or swimming pool.
  • Drinking alcohol.

We also recommend:

  • Follow the aftercare advice provided by your practitioner.
  • Drinking plenty of water to maintain hydration levels and aid the lymphatic system to eliminate toxins.
  • Apply a sunscreen daily minimum SPF30+.
  • Make-up can be applied immediately following treatment. However, we recommend the use of mineral based or non-comedogenic formulations that allow the skin to breathe.
